Michael likes to focus on the future. Yet there are some moments in his past that were important to him and his love for the craft. He inherited an interest in cooking from his grandfather, when he first came into contact with the kitchen. At 18, Michael wanted to start putting energy into what he really wanted to become good at, which is cooking.
After his grandfather's death, he made a promise to himself. He wanted to become the best chef and set to work with books, techniques and flavour combinations. Hours and hours he spent experimenting and refining flavours. Something you can see and taste in the quality and taste of the dishes he serves at Tres.
On a beautiful location in the basement of the Entrepot building in Rotterdam-Zuid, you will find a hidden gem: restaurant Tres. The restaurant has room for 12 guests, an intimate setting at a bar around the kitchen island.
The dishes served are seasonal and consist of home-grown ingredients and ingredients from local producers. The menu of around 18 dishes changes with the seasons. Michael creates intense flavour combinations by experimenting a lot. All pure flavours come from the ingredients, which are enriched by different techniques. An evening at Tres is an evening of culinary highlights that you will never forget.
